Fluff Lead
Every build and strike needs more than tools and power. It needs encouragement, laughter, and someone who shows up with coffee right when you didn’t know you needed it. A banana, a peppermint, sunscreen, or a well-timed compliment will keep the builders going.
For Where the Sheep Sleep we are looking for a Fluff Lead to keep the volunteers energized, hydrated, and smiling during build week. Fluffing is one of the most loved roles on site. You travel across the terrain bringing small boosts of energy to the people creating the event. From drinks and snacks to humor and encouragement. You help create the atmosphere that makes building together joyful.
What you will do
The terrain is large and builds happen in many different places. Between breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Fluff team makes sure the builders get small pick-me-ups throughout the day. • You move around the site with a small cart, bike, or wagon• You create moments of fun, encouragement, and appreciation• You make sure builders remember to hydrate, take breaks, and keep their energy up• You coordinate with kitchen and build teams to know where fluff is needed most• Ideally also support fluff during strike (Sunday–Monday after the event)
Who we are looking for• Someone who enjoys taking care of people• A cheerful presence who likes walking around and connecting with builders• Organized enough to keep snacks, drinks, and supplies stocked• Someone who can be present during build week (starting Monday before the event)• Ideally also available during strike
Why this mattersBuilding a temporary city is hard work. The Fluff team keeps spirits high and energy levels up. A small gesture at the right moment can make a huge difference during long build days. Builders remember the fluffers who showed up when they needed it most.
