Kitchen Lead(s) Strike – Where The Sheep Sleep 2026

For Where The Sheep Sleep 2026 we are urgently looking for one or multiple Kitchen Leads who can help feed our community during strike. Whether you’re an experienced camp cook, a kitchen organizer, or someone who loves bringing people together through food, this role is essential in creating the heart of our shared experience.

Because cooking for a full event is a big responsibility, we are also open to multiple people sharing the role, for example taking responsibility for one day each.

What you’ll do

As Kitchen Lead, you help create a smooth, welcoming and food-safe kitchen experience for volunteers. We have a professional kitchen tent with all the equipment you need and a kitchen team to help you with getting started. In short you will:

• Draft a simple and realistic menu plan for monday and tuesday (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
• Organize and order groceries to be delivered on site
• Coordinate and instruct volunteers during kitchen shifts
• Help maintain a clean, hygienic and food-safe kitchen environment
• Work together with our experienced build/strike kitchen team on planning and logistics

If multiple Kitchen Leads step in, responsibilities and planning can be shared between you.

Who we’re looking for

• Someone who enjoys cooking for larger groups (about 50-75 people per meal)
• A calm and practical organizer who can keep overview in a busy environment
• A confident communicator who can guide volunteers clearly
• Experience with event kitchens, catering, horeca or camp cooking is a big plus

Why this matters

Food brings people together. The kitchen is one of the beating hearts of the event: a place where volunteers recharge. Without people willing to take ownership of this space, we cannot properly support the many volunteers and contributors who make the event possible.
