Communities don't build themselves. They grow because people feel welcome, know where they can contribute, and receive the support they need to turn ideas into reality.
Burning Man Netherlands is taking the next step in becoming a more community-driven organization. Over the coming year we will establish four year-round committees: Strategy, Art, Civic and Participation, that will help shape the future of BMNL together with the Board and the community.
To make that happen, we are looking for several new members to join the Peoplez Team.
The Peoplez Team is not about traditional HR. It is about people, participation and empowerment. We help community members find meaningful roles, make participation more accessible, support volunteers throughout their journey, and create the foundations that allow our committees to thrive.
Our first big mission is to help form the four committees. Once they are established, Peoplez will continue supporting committee members, project leads and volunteers across the organization.
What you will do
During the committee formation phase you will help:
- Help identify which roles and profiles are needed for the four committees
- Work together with the Board and Comms to publish vacancies
- Encourage people from the community to get involved
- Help organize and support the selection process for committee members
- Communicate openly and transparently about the process
- Support onboarding of new committee members
After the committees are formed, the Peoplez Team will continue to:
- Improve participate.burningman.nl and keep year-round roles visible
- Help onboard new leads and volunteers
- Support project leads and community initiatives in finding the right place within BMNL
- Review the volunteer experience and identify ways to better support our community
- Help make participation within BMNL easier, clearer and more transparent
- Work together with the Board, event leads and committees to identify where people are needed most
Who we are looking for
You do not need an HR background.
We are looking for people who enjoy connecting with others and helping communities grow.
You might be someone who:
- Enjoys talking to people and discovering their talents
- Likes organizing, coordinating or bringing structure
- Believes in transparency and community participation
- Wants to help shape the future of Burning Man Netherlands
- Communicates openly and respectfully
- Can commit to a few meetings each month and contribute throughout the year
Whether your strengths are administration, interviewing, communication, volunteer support, onboarding, process design or simply making people feel welcome, there is likely a place for you in Peoplez.

Burning Man Netherlands has grown into a financially healthy organization with incredible events and an amazing community. The next challenge is creating an organization where more people can actively contribute year-round without overloading the same volunteers.
The four committees are an important step toward that future.
By joining Peoplez, you help build the structure that allows hundreds of community members to contribute their ideas, talents and initiatives. You help lower the threshold for participation, create transparent processes and make sure volunteers feel supported from their first conversation to their first project.

What is in it for you
Like all roles at Burning Man Netherlands, this is a volunteer position.
You will work closely with Board members, Committee Leads and volunteers from across BMNL, gaining a unique behind-the-scenes view of how the organization works.
You will help design new processes, connect passionate burners with meaningful opportunities, and play a key role in creating a more open, sustainable and community-driven organization.
Most importantly, you'll help build something that will continue to support the community for years to come.
