Welfare Lead

Where the Sheep Sleep is looking for a Welfare Lead! As Welfare Lead,  you and your team will take care of all the lost sheep by providing them comfort, a safe space and a hot beverage when needed.

All Welfare volunteers are requested to attend a short training. As Welfare Lead you will give this training twice during the event.

Your responsibilities are, amongst others:

  • Creating a safe and peaceful environment in the welfare tent
  • Check the welfare inventory and buy/arrange new supplies when needed
  • Train Welfare Volunteers
  • Recruit Welfare Volunteers
  • Be the first point of contact for the medical help

Who are you?

You have a caring personality and you do not get stressed easily. Your friends know that they can always come to you for advice because you are a great listener and you are responsible.

Further, we ask for:

  • Great communication skills
  • Preferably experience as a volunteer in Welfare or professionally in (mental) healthcare
  • Being trained as an Emergency Response Officer (BHV) is a big pro (not a must)
  • You know how to handle a coffee maker ;-)
  • Availability on Wednesday night for our bi-weekly pre-event meeting (at least once or twice)

What’s in it for you?

As with all positions within Burning Man Netherlands, this is a volunteer position. However, being the Welfare Lead will give you access to a vast network of enthusiastic artist and engaged participants to help you develop.

Yes, I want to do this!

Great! We are looking forward to your application. Please apply via the apply button on this website and tell us why you make the best Welfare Lead there is. You can apply until April 15th.
